Indigenous KZN Reptile Breeding program

ARK-KZN is passionate about education and part of this includes educating keepers on how to keep and breed previously difficult species in captivity. This in turn relieves pressure on wild populations of those species.

Species of KZN reptiles selected to be worked with include:

  • Common File Snake (Gonionotophis capensis capensis)
  • Common Purple-glossed Snake (Amblyodipsas polylepis)
  • Eastern Tiger Snake (Telescopus semiannulatus semiannulatus)
  • Spotted Rock Snake (Lamprophis guttatus)
